100,000 tickets issued by Gardaí through new technological development

Irish Gardaí have seen a monumental development in the technology sector as a new ‘Activity Mobility’ app allows Gardaí to check a vehicle’s tax, NCT status and history record in the palm of their hands. An additional 2,500 devices have been given to frontline regular policing personnel.
The device also allows such personnel to check driver’s licence status, along with their insurance. This development in the industry allows Gardaí to work more efficiently, thus allowing more time to work within their communities. So far, Gardaí have issued over 100,000 tickets in the past 12 months. using this technology.
