54th Annual Ballina Salmon Festival to Be Held in July
From 8th – 15th July 2018 in Ballina, North Mayo, more than 250,000 annual visitors are expected to attend the 54th Ballina Salmon Festival.
Located alongside the River Moy with its salmon-filled waters, Ballina is known as the Salmon Capital of Ireland and hosts the festival to honor its long fishing history.
This year’s festival events will include a historical walking tour of Ballina, a 5k run/walk, a flower festival and fireworks. Live music and dance opportunities will be available most nights of the week-long event. A Country/Western night on Thursday 12th July will feature musician Mike Denver. Seán Keane, The Kerbs and Bog O The Loughs will also perform throughout the week.
The Ballina Salmon Festival is family friendly, with one-third of the programme dedicated to children. A special event on Sunday 15th July includes a riverside Teddy Bear’s Picnic for the festival’s younger guests.
