Retired Garda Sergeant Patrick Doherty sadly passed away earlier this week at 6.20 am on St. Patrick’s Day at Marymount Hospice in Co Cork. Mr. Doherty was originally from Charlestown in Co. Mayo and joined An Garda Siochana on May 15^th 1947.  Nearly his entire service was carried out in Cork City, from where he was promoted “Sergeant” at the Old Blackrock Station in April 1963.
