Telecommunications Extend their Dublin Footprint
Colt Technology Services have announced today that it will be extending its Colt IQ Network in the greater Dublin area due to demand from multinational customers for digital infrastructure in the area.
Currently Colt connect more than 350 enterprise buildings and 23 data centres in Dublin, and have a growing demand for their high bandwidth connectivity solutions. This confirmed Dublin expansion with new fibre cabling will extend the Colt IQ Network to more than 300km. The demand is fuelled by the increase in businesses setting up operations in the tech hub that is Dublin.
The Dublin expansion is part of Colt Technology’s wider strategy to reach Europe, Asia, and North America. The multinational telecommunications company are striving to provide ‘agile, on-demand high bandwidth solutions’ to customers across the globe. This Dublin development has extended the company’s global footprint, currently connecting more than 850 data centres and over 27,000 buildings across 28 countries.
CEO of Colt Technology Services, Carl Grivner spoke about our ever-changing digital economy and the Dublin expansion saying: ‘We see Dublin as being one of Europe’s key growth cities in the coming years. With multinational investment in Ireland only likely to increase, it’s crucial that Colt has the technological backbone in Ireland to support its anticipated traffic growth.’
The process of expanding the company’s connectivity solutions has begun since last month, and will continue to be rolled out over a number of phases.
