Bad Habits You Should Break To Increase Productivity

You would be astonished at how you can be more productive by simply cutting out these bad habits. Here are some things you should stop doing to become more productive and get the most out of your day…

Needles Browsing of the Internet

It can be easy to get sidetracked looking up answers to random questions that pop into your head when you are on your computer. To avoid this and to get more work done, simply make a list of these things and follow up on them when you are not working.

Constantly Checking Emails

Believe it or not but we actually lose up to 25 minutes of working time each day checking our emails. To avoid this try to restrict your checking of emails to the moring or the afternoon.

Putting Off Your Most Important Task Until Late In The Day

Your productivity will naturally decrease as the day goes on. Therefore it is better to get the most difficult and important tasks completed and out of the way at the beginning of the day.

Failing To Properly Prioritise

If you have too many goals on any given day it can be very unproductive. This is best avoided and you should identify the most important tasks and leave the less important ones until later.

Staying Sitting All Day

The longer you stay sitting down, the less alert you are. A great way to combat this is to try to take at least a 30 minute walk each day to clear your head and increase general well being and productivity.

Impose deadlines on yourself

You should divide up your time to help you meet deadlines faster. Some people who thrive under deadlines even deliberately shorten their workday by 15 minutes to ensure maximum productivity.

Avoid Heavy Lunches

A big lunch can leave you feeling tired. Try to snack on foods high in protein, fiber and antioxidants. Granola and berries will keep you full and focused. Sugary foods and energy drinks keep you going only for a short time, and lead to an unavoidable “crash”.
