The duration of the ‘An Island Portrait,’ exhibition of photography from the Blasket Island that recently launched Oireachtas na Samhna 2013 in Killarney has been extended due to significant popular demand. The exhibition will now run until Christmas in the offices of the Dept of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht in Killarney.

The photographic exhibition depicts live for locals of the Blasket Islands between 1892 and 2010 covering the earliest known photographs of the island to contemporary photographs of the islanders. It features photographs from the archives of The Great Blasket Centre in Dún Chaoin.
