Breathtaking bridges
The Rakotz bridge, located in Kromlau, Germany shows how a bridge can also function as a natural work of art.
The obvious intention of a bridge is to carry people over obstecles such as water. The sunken bridge at Fort de Roovere near the village of Halsteren in the Netherlands actually sinks below it and takes the visitors through rather than over the moat.
Traditionally a bridge will be constructed out of Instead of bricks or wood. The people in the village of Cherrapunji in the state of Meghalaya in India uses the roots of the massive trees located in the region to construct their bridges. Some of their bridges are over 30m long and can support the weight of 50 people at one time.
