Clerys re-opens its doors today
Clerys is to open its doors once again today, just in time for the Christmas rush. The iconic Dublin shop has been closed for repairs since July when it was forced to close due to severe structural damage caused by bad weather. The news will surely be welcomed by all Dubliners as the shop is an institution in the city centre.
Clearys have announced that all of the staff who were laid off in July would be returning to their jobs and managing director of the 160 year old shop said that they were entering a “new and exciting era” in the shops history. Mr. Prendergast also said that the retail emporium had been “restored to its former glory” following the recent renovations.
Speaking about the flood damage that had forced the shop to close Mr. Prendergast also stated “The flood damage earlier this year was a devastating blow to our thousands of loyal customers, suppliers and co-workers and we would like to take this opportunity to thank them most sincerely for their patience and support during the past four months.”
