Dublin City Hall has a museum/exhibition in the basement, called “The Story of the Capital”, it is an exhibition that you should definitely check out at some stage.
To celebrate the Easter Rising Anniversary, admission to that exhibititon is free for the whole year!!

Between 17 Oct and 05 Dec, Tim Thurston will tell the story of 6 major composers and will play excerpts of some of their greatest choral works in the context of their premiers in 6 cities.
Tim is a broadcaster, lecturer and writer on the widest range of music from Gregorian Chant to Contemporary Jazz.
The topic this Monday is “Faure and Paris”.
Classes take place in Studio Theatre and no booking is necessary.
Admission is free on a first come, first served basis.
The National Gallery has an extensive programme of free talks, public tours and Art Documentary screenings focusing on highlights of the European and Irish Collection every day of the week. Check their website for details.

Thesis in 3 is the Elevator Pitch for a PhD or – in other words – a research showcase and competition for research students all over Ireland. On Monday the National Final will take place in the Sugar Club.
Every research student has just 3 slides and 3 minutes to explain an entire thesis. The competition is designed to showcase the world-class research happening in Ireland in bite-sized chunks.
The event is hosted by Claire O’Connell from Silicone Republic and the judges are Ann O’Dea (Silicone Republic), Ruth Freeman (Science Foundation Ireland) and Paul Melia (Irish Independent). Speakers are judged on the content, clarity, and charisma of their presentations, with prizes awarded for the top three speakers as well as an award for the audience’s favourite.
Admission is free and includes complimentary drinks and Pizza, but booking is required via the Eventbrite website below.

The EUNIC Ireland cluster is inviting you to the free screening of seven short films presented by the Alliance Francaise, the Austrian Embassy, the British Council, the Goethe-Institut, the Instituto Cervantes, AECID Spanish Agency for the International Cooperation and Development, the Istituto Italiano di Cultura, the Embassy of Romania and the Romanian Cultural Institute. A Polish and an Irish short film will also be presented out of competition.
Admission is free, but booking is required via info@dublin.goethe.org with subject “Short Shorts”.
The Comedy Crunch is a free Stand Up comedy event every Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Every week different comedians entertain and on top of good comedy you will get free ice cream. Admission is free. The line-up can be found via the Comedy Crunch Facebook Page (see link below).

Every Monday a Jazz Jam Session will take place in the Grand Social and you are invited to listen or even to participate. Admission is free for musicians and audience.
Instruments are supplied (drums (no cymbals), double bass, guitar amp, bass amp, PA system) and ideas and themes will be proposed prior to the session to the musicians who join the event on Facebook (see Facebook Page below).
