Irish Heart Foundation urges people to learn CPR
The Irish Heart Foundation has called for more Irish people to learn CPR so they will be able to respond in case of an emergency. The foundation believes that those who have been properly trained in CPR are 10 times more likely to attempt it on a person who requires it to be administered.
Barry Dempsey, the CEO of the Irish Heart Foundation believes that people who are not trained to perform CPR are afraid that they would cause harm to the individual if they attempt it but has maintained that it would not cause harm to the person and can double the person’s chance of surviving by maintaining blood flow to the brain.
