Irishman shortlisted for world photography award
An Irish photographer has been shortlisted for the famous 2014 Sony World Photography Awards. Irish man Ivor Prickett has made it onto the shortlist in the People category of the competition. Mr. Prickett’s photographs are entitled ‘Kurdistan is booming’ and they document everyday life in the region a decade after the allied invasion of Iraq.
His work was selected by a panel of experts from almost 140,000 entries by photographers from 166 countries from across the globe which is the highest number of entries in the awards history. The Sony World Photography Awards Photographer of the Year title and $25,000 prize will be announced in London on the 30th of April.
