Met Eireann issues category orange weather warning

Met Eireann has issued a weather warning to the public and have said that the temperatures will get much colder in the next few weeks. Winds of up to 120kph have been registered today in Connacht, Monaghan, Donegal and Cavan while in Leinster and Munster the winds have reached up to 110kph.

Met Eireann has said that the weather looks set to be settled “well into next week” with temperatures normal or slightly above by day. They have also issued a category orange level weather warning and say that the weather conditions are expected to impact significantly on people in the affected areas. After the driest November in 70 years it looks as though winter has finally arrived in Ireland.
