Regulators have reported that regularly switching energy providers can save you up to €1,400 over a four year period.

The Regulator found that those who switched or renegotiated every year saved more than €1000, those who regularly switch their gas provider saved around €670.

Those on dual fuel bundles stand to save even more, with their possible savings reaching €1400. The regulators have stated that energy bills have risen by 6% while the number of consumers who switched in the previous year is only at 14%.

8% of gas and electricity customers got a better deal by renegotiating or switching.
