World Press Photo Exhibition 2013 comes to Dublin
The 56th World Press Photo Exhibition is to be held in Dublin this month. The world renowned travelling exhibition “aims to inspire understanding of the world through the highest quality in photojournalism”. It is the first time that the exhibition will be held on these shores in over ten years.
The photograph exhibition features a series of prize winning photographs from this year’s exhibition. The winner of this year’s competition was a Swedish photographer named Paul Hansen. His poignant photograph depicts a group of men carrying the bodies of two dead children through a street in Gaza City in the aftermath of an attack in the region earlier this year.
This fantastic photographic collection, which is visiting more than 100 cities in over 45 countries, is currently being held at the chq Building in Dublin’s Docklands until the 22nd of this month. Standard entry tickets cost €5.00 and admission between 10am and noon on weekdays is free to anyone who wishes to visit the event.
