The Tainiste Eamon Gilmore has suggested that the government is close to announcing how much that homeowners will have to pay for water from next October. Mr Gilmore said that the government will be fair and reasonable with payment and said that different types of family situations would be taken into account.

Speaking on RTE News at One yesterday, the Tainiste said “We have made a lot of progress on the issue of water charges. Indeed we did a lot of work on it over the course of the weekend. And I expect now that we will be discussing it at the Cabinet tomorrow morning.”
