Our lists of recommended podcasts have proved exceedingly popular; hardly surprising given that podcasts are very much in vogue these days.

An increase in digital media consumption and the genre’s fast increase in popularity, there are now plenty of options to choose from – with almost every niche interest catered for.

Here at Garda Post, we listen to our readers, and have compiled another list of recommended shows. Comprised of our favourite mystery and podcasts, it will be of particular interest for those you with a penchant for unsolved, unexplained and intriguing mysteries.

Generation Why

Hosted two friends, Aaron & Justin, Generation Why dissects some of the world’s most intriguing murders, mysteries conspiracy theories and more. Each week, the show gives play-by-play rundown of a case picked by either the listeners or hosts. To date, the pair have discussed theories etc. on topics like the Martin Luther King and JFK Assassinations, the Baton Rouge Serial Killer, the Zodiac Killer, The Bermuda Triangle Mystery, The Enfield Poltergeist and The Titanic Conspiracy. Lovers of intrigue and unsolved mysteries with a taste for the bizarre will really enjoy this one.

Thinking Sideways

Sometimes the strangest mysteries require a little out-off-the-box thinking. The Thinking Sideways team – Steve, Devin and Joe – employ a lively roundtable approach to re-examine evidence of bizarre unsolved mysteries and enigmatic cases. While many episodes are about murders and other crimes, the show addresses a wide variety of assorted of unsolved mysteries, bizarre occurrences and conspiracy theories. MonsterTalk

MonsterTalk is the science show about monsters – a podcast that critically examines the science behind cryptozoological (and legendary) creatures, such as Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, or werewolves. Hosted by Blake Smith and Dr. Karen Stollznow, MonsterTalk interviews the scientists and investigators who shine a spotlight on the things that go bump in the night. For once, unlike many mystery-mongering television shows, a monster-themed program gives skepticism more than just a couple minutes of lip service. Always informative and entertaining, with fascinating conversations and interesting guests.
